NOTE: PortFringe will be profiling PF14 Artists and their shows on this blog in the weeks leading up to the festival (June 24-29, 2014). The next snapshot is of PortFringe veterans Lynne Cullen and Janet Lynch. Lynne and Janet each have their own shows in this year’s festival (The King and the Corpse, and The Miller’s Tale, respectively), and have teamed up on a third collaborative show for FAMILY FRINGE!
Artist: Lynne Cullen & Janet Lynch
Show: The Lonely Universe Guide to the Other Side
Description: Janet Lynch and Lynne Cullen take you on a hilarious safari to realms that exist just a hair’s breadth away from ours. Armed with fiddle, concertina, and a trunkful of stories, your intrepid guides will transport you to worlds in which corpses cheat at cards, ghosts crash parties, and the walls of reality are thin enough to poke through with a stick. No worries, Mate, you’re safe with us! www.lynnecullen.com
Tell us something we might not know about you/your company and your PortFringe show.
LYNNE: We’ll be telling four humorous, supernatural Irish folktales: Daniel Crowley and the Ghosts, Knockmany Hill (Fionn MacCumhaill vs Cuchulainn), The Piper and the Pooka, and Kauth Morrissey Looking for Service.
JANET: And we’ll be playing and singing some otherworldly Irish tunes and songs we got from the Faeries. And having a lot of fun.
What are you most looking forward to about PortFringe 2014?
JANET: Having a great time putting on great shows and seeing as many great shows as possible.
LYNNE: Performing, and being entertained in turn.
Lobster or Steak? Discuss.
Lobster or steak?- It’s an odd sort of question,
Both are rich, and are likely to cause indigestion.
Does the menu, in addition to lobster or steak,
Also offer a lighter entrée of poached hake?
You should think twice about eating either of them; they might know where the treasure is buried.
