Easter and Annie
Mod Twenty Productions (Portland, ME)
“And we woke up in the morning, and, like, … there he was. Like some sort of weird-ass Baby Huey on acid running amok all over our revolution. Shit.” EASTER AND ANNIE is the story of two women managing a November 2016 dystopia, filling the stage with pathos and humor as the title characters navigate a new world order and negotiate political resistance with personal resilience.
Laurie and Liz met almost thirty years ago as Theatre students at Hampshire College. Mod Twenty Productions borrows its name from their school’s unique approach to theatre-making and its commitment to theatre as a site for social justice and activism as well as exceptional artistry.
