Kelly Nesbitt (Portland, OR)
POONSTRUCK™ is an original story/performance told through the character Dr Tallulah, a fiery Shamanic Healer, Sexual Activist, Zen Cosmetologist, and Vaginal Consciousness (VAGCON™) Pioneer. It involves a personal revelation, taps into the zeitgeist of a New Age baby boomer generation, employs audience participation, and walks the line between satire and the performer’s (Nesbitt’s) own vulnerability in her quest for intimacy. Come witness Dr Tallulah’s hilarious and spiraling descent into the exploration of her sexuality, which ultimately reveals her HEART’s truest desire.
Kelly Nesbitt (Portland, Oregon) is a writer and contemporary performance artist who creates original outlandish performances that are character driven, rooted in movement-based theater, and defy easy categorization. Kelly’s hybrid performances are semi-autobiographical, juxtapose pratfalls with seriousness, absurdities with sincerity, and pathos with humor while exploring themes of aging, intimacy, sexuality, gender, and collective-consciousness. Her multimedia performances employ costumes, props, and audience participation with a sharp sense of rhythm, somatic awareness, and swift sensitivity to audience interaction.
