In my opinion, the most strategic and well executed part about Wednesday’s late night show ‘The Garden’ was the use of space. As myself and other audience members were guided to participate and intentionally explore the well crafted stations of the garden both inside and out of Three of Strong Spirits, we were collectively engaged, entertained, and amazed no matter which station we had chose to roam. Guiding attendees through interactive questions and actions, we gave libations to the garden, we destroyed the garden, and then we collectively choose to rebuild it. Writing a secret on some cardboard, hanging a light from a wood and felt tree, and interacting with the community, this show was exactly what I needed to experience. Now, as I question humanity’s impact on nature, I also wonder when ‘The Garden’ part two will be ready.

I love an immersive experience, anything that includes the viewer and is experienced differently on an individual level. It was lovely being in the Garden, but I’m uncertain if the venue was the best place for it. It was unclear at times if the performance was still continuing on and what was happening… In that aspect, it could use a little tightening, but the heart of the performance was absolutely in the right place. Love the Car Alarm Improv.
