REVIEWS: Séance on a Tuesday Afternoon

With a creative use of the entire room in new Port Fringe space The Aphodian, ‘Séance on a Tuesday Afternoon’ is 30-minutes of wacky fun. Presented by an ensemble cast of local actors and paired as a part of a double feature, this show conjures up the perfect amount of laughs as the troupe calls upon the spirit world for guidance. A joy for all, I would recommend this comedy.

I’m not sure when exactly this play started…like there really wasn’t a “let the performance begin” moment. The cast just kinda took over: moving people, moving chair, setting up tables, summoning ghosts and lines… Séance on a Tuesday Afternoon is a study on the hot mess of jacked up empty egos. I wanna tell you more but I can’t because the doors to the séance were locked and I am afraid that fuckin’ ghost dog is gonna possess me.

Embrace misdirection and take a chaotic dive into the afterlife. The things you overhear on the edges might shape your experience of this roundtable with the dead. Make sure to accept any protection offered and please pick up your media packet!
