PF14 Artist Snapshot: Grace Fosler presents “The Elephant in the Room”

NOTE: PortFringe will be profiling PF14 Artists and their shows on this blog in the weeks leading up to the festival (June 24-29, 2014). The next snapshot is of Grace Fosler, Maine native & recent Brandeis University Theater Arts graduate, appearing at PortFringe for the first time.

Artist: Grace Fosler
Show: The Elephant in the Room
Description: The Elephant in the Room satirizes the legal and illegal animal cruelty that permeates American culture. Through a series of vignettes, the play explores the cosmetic testing industry, reveals the harshness of the greatest show on Earth, and takes the audience through the dark tunnel that is factory farming. The Elephant in the Room allows one to experience the world of animal exploitation from an entirely different perspective than what is often presented by animal rights organizations.

Tell us something we don’t know about you and your PortFringe show.

Our cast is only 6 people, but our age range is 15-29.

What are you most looking forward to about PortFringe 2014?

I’m looking forward to so many things about PortFringe: working in a space I’ve never seen before, a fast rehearsal process, directing a show I’ve recently done with an entirely new group of people, seeing all the other diverse pieces that are part of PortFringe!

Lobster or Steak? Discuss.

Neither! I’m a vegetarian. Come see “The Elephant in the Room” and you’ll see why.

Thanks, Grace – break a leg!
