PF14 Artist Snapshot: Improvised Puppet Project presents “Happy Endings”

NOTE: PortFringe will be profiling PF14 Artists and their shows on this blog in the weeks leading up to the festival (June 24-29, 2014). The next snapshot is of Improvised Puppet Project – a PortFringe veteran. After PF12’s “First World Problems” and PF-13’s “A Post-Apocalyptic Improvised Zombie Puppet Musical”, we can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with next.

Artist: Improvised Puppet Project
Show: Happy Endings
Description: Five minutes before showtime, the Improvised Puppet Project are given the LAST scene of a brand-new one-act by a local Maine playwright. They’ll perform it – with puppets – as astaged reading, then jump to the beginning to improvise the whole play. Theater doesn’t get any more live than this!

Tell us something we don’t know about you and your PortFringe show.

Most of the puppet members of the Improvised Puppet Project are inspired by real people.

What are you most looking forward to about PortFringe 2014?

Our shows are on Saturday and Sunday – early on both days! – so that leaves me TONS of time to see all the OTHER amazing shows. It’s so exciting that there’s a bunch of improv and a bunch of puppets in this year’s Fringe – though we’re the only ones doing both at the same time. 🙂

Lobster or Steak? Discuss.

I haven’t eaten steak since 1989, so I’m going to go with lobster. Plus lobsters make better puppets.

Saturday, June 28 at 4:30pm – PSC Studio Theater
