For Why
Quapico (Portland, ME)

An artist and a composer team up to make sounds, drones, and looping conversation. Sometimes funny, often meditative,  Quapico creates music and art inspired by walking with dogs, cemeteries, and musings on language. “For Why” weaves spoken word, live instruments, field recordings and electronic sounds into extended soundscapes measuring equally in meaning and abstraction. “Quapico” is a podcast produced in Portland, Maine by artist Hannah Bevens and musician Hans Indigo Spencer. The two artist-educators are colleagues at Portland’s Breakwater School and both practice their disciplines separately in venues throughout New England.
