A moment with Will Glenn of 2201: A PORN ODYSSEY

Why did you choose PortFringe this year?
Trish (the producer)’s dad always said she would fit right it in Maine, and I have friends that have told me how great of a festival PortFringe is! So here we are!

How was your show born?
Originally we were brainstorming on celebrity look-a-likes for me, in Winnipeg 2017. We turned up Ron Jeremy. It was then through my passion for sci-fi and books like Snow Crash, and Trish’s penchant for storytelling, that I have written this actual show. You just never know what will happen when you throw a few different things into the creativity blender!

What about the world *right now* makes it feel important to be putting this show out into the world?
Today (and perhaps always) the internet’s primary function is for porn, and there are a lot of questions presently about how porn is changing the way we think about sex. Porn online largely has become about extremes, and story has been lost, and the stars undergo a lot of physical altercation to transform themselves into the ultimate lover.

This show asks questions about where we are headed, as we rely more and more on the internet for not only pornography, but for all things.

How would you describe your show to your mother?
For my mother I would probably say, don’t come to my show!

How would you describe your show to your crush?
For my girlfriend or crush, I would say It’s a sci-fi story set two hundred years in the future, when porn has become self aware and people live much of their lives in a virtual reality!

If any famous person could see your show, who would you pick?
