Invisibility: A Journey of Pasta, Prayer, Protest, and Peru

A PortFringe 2019 SOLO FEST Production
Invisibility: A Journey of Pasta, Prayer, Protest, and Peru
Richard Cardillo (New York, NY)

Richard Cardillo takes us on a magical, mystical and multicultural ride through his childhood growing up in a large Italian-American family, his youth and young-adulthood as a monk in a Catholic monastery, his 10 years working and learning in Peru, and his eventual evolution as an out and proud queer activist. With equal measures of celebration, sadness, self-discovery, and sex antics, Invisibility will take all on an unforgettable journey. Richis a lifelong resident of the Lower East Side in Manhattan and a six-time Moth StorySLAM winner. He’s performed at shows such as Yum’s The Word, Pros(e) Of Pie, Story Collider, The Liars Show, RISK!, and was recently featured on The best of RISK! #12 Podcast. Rich was recently featured on television in the PBS Series: “Stories From the Stage”.  This winter, he debuted his solo show “Invisibility” to sold out audiences at Frigid Festival in the East Village of NYC. Rich is a passionate activist (recently garnering his first civil disobedience arrest in support of immigrant rights while inside Trump Tower!).   His playground voice has transitioned nicely to become his protest voice!
