WHAT IS TO BE DONE? BY NIKOLAI CHERNYSHEVSKY – The Tibbus Group: Elliot and Michela!

WHAT IS TO BE DONE? BY NIKOLAI CHERNYSHEVSKY
(The Tibbus Group: Elliot and Michela!)

Show Description: A word-for-word stage adaptation of the Prologue and Preface sections of Chernyshevsky’s What Is To Be Done?, a science fictional utopian socialist political-tract-disguised-as-romance-novel written from a Russian prison in 1863. Credited as the forefather of populism, political nihilism and the Russian Revolution itself, Chernyshevsky’s literary and dramatic merits are, to our protestation, rarely contemplated. Performed by two clowns, puppet-lite.

Artist Description: The Tibbus Group is a newfound rotating puppetry, performance, and design group. In this case, it is Michela Micalizio and Elliot Nye.

Schedule: WHAT IS TO BE DONE? BY NIKOLAI CHERNYSHEVSKY is part of PF22 Event #6 and will be presented with two other short PF22 shows – YOU’VE ALWAYS LOVED THE SUN and THE BALLAD OF CHARYBDIS – on the following schedule:

Wednesday, June 15 @ 9:00PM – at PortFiber
Friday, June 17 @ 7:00PM – at Goodfire
Saturday, June 18 @ 6:30PM – at Maine Studio Works
