Procession
Muscleflea (Chicago, IL)
Push the edges of audience and ensemble with the creation of a public procession. Trace threads that tie grief to ceremony, rage to celebration. Move through a world where community is an act of radical courage.
Procession is an immersive theatrical experiment that will guide participants through different forms of social movement and ritual. Part interactive multimedia event, part flash mob, participants can expect light physical engagement culminating in a public procession that will leave the theater and travel for five minutes, or over a two-block radius. Please reach out with accessibility questions. Wheelchair accessible and will work to accommodate any ability level.
Muscleflea is an international folk/theatre collaborative that uses multimedia, music, and devised performance to uncover a global community. Amalia Mathewson (co-founder) is a Chicago-based writer and performing artist who has trained with The Neo-Futurists, Second City, and the Moscow Art Theatre.
