Go Bananas written and performed by Amanda Huotari brings its clowning A-game to this bizarre and carefully crafted piece. From exaggerated grins and talk of self pleasure to the full rendition of the Brady Bunch theme song (including drum solos) Huotari provided a tense and curious backdrop for their shame based interactive gameshow. Prepare yourself for uncomfortable truths, acknowledge the pleasure of pleasure as well as the absurdity of social pressures and you just may walk away with a gold star. Participation in this show is infectious, unsettling and heavily encouraged.

Get ready to explore shame in the most hilarious way. Guided by Amanda Houtari, through the use of fruit, iconic television, and laughter, it only takes audience members a few minutes to realize that “the world is crazy.” A stark contrast to its partner show, ‘Go Bananas’ is the smile you’ll need to rediscover after a lot of emotion.

Engaging the crowd with gold stars, blowup items, and participation opportunities, you are invited to get to know Amanda’s character background and take part in the ‘Shame Game’. A bunch of fun that had the whole audience engaged, this is a good time. Watching the audience leave the brewery covered in stickers helped to reduce this writer’s shame of shame and solidify a sense of collective reality through silliness. A must see, “Go Bananas” reminds us all about how important it is to monkey around sometimes.
