Go see HEDY! In the spirit of all that we now know we never learned in school — too many things — here is another story that needs to be told. In an hour, Heather Massie charms you with a narrative of the brilliant and beautiful Hedy Lamarr, while she also embodies all the powerful men that she matched, or surpassed, in wits with her IQ of 154 and her enhanced breasts. A solid addition to contrast the weird and wonderful of the Fringe.

This show made me fall in love with Hedy Lamarr. Full disclosure, I’m a film history buff so when I have the opportunity to see a play about the life of an Old Hollywood screen legend the chances are I’m going to love it, and Hedy! didn’t disappoint.

Heather Massie’s one-woman show took the audience on a journey of the actress’s life and explored the icon’s impressive, and underrated, intelligence and world-changing inventions. Massie’s impersonations of icons like Jimmy Stewart and Louie B. Mayer were masterful and immersed the audience in 1940s Hollywood.

The show struck a great balance between education and entertainment and I hope Massie continues to write and perform stories that celebrate women in the sciences.
