Performance 6/13/26 – The Apohadion

What a blast! Sorry you couldn’t all be there. Like having to go to your cousin’s boyfriend’s wedding and surprisingly having the time of your life. Moments of comedy, poignancy, beauty, ridiculousness provided by skilled dancers and singers who range from just having fun to knocking your socks off. Hopefully this will show again!

What do you get when you mix karaoke and choreography? Karaokeography, of course! A late night fun time that encouraged audience members to sign up for their song of choice from a preset list upon entry, I wasn’t mad I stayed out way past my bedtime for this show. Watching a handful of dancers sway, bop, and emote to the tracks and lyrics, everyone in attendance was clearly having a great time. Using the full stage and most of the floor, people were encouraged to slow dance, sing along, and clap in time with the dancers to classic tracks like “Time after Time”, “One”, and “Zombie”. I’m not surprised this show won proceeds from The Kindling Fund and wish there were more performances in this year’s festival. Karaokeography is definitely something I’d want to see and participate in again, and again, and again.
